Baby steps are hardest of all
Taking us from safety and comfort
To a world that teeters and totters

Launching us into an unknown void
Seemingly determined not to accept us
Only to fall and fall and fall again
As if to never escape the floor

Yet every halting step leading us
To when we completely forget that
Baby steps are hardest of all

I ran across this poem online today and it hit me. If people want to know how to overcome the fear of failure…the failure to try…there it is right there: baby steps!

I never like to present a problem without coming full-circle and presenting a solution.  The other day I blogged about failure.  Fear.  Not doing what God has called you to do because you’re afraid to try.  For whatever reason.  In your life, in your job, in your marriage, in your ministry.  Whatever.   I wasn’t just talking to all of you out there, I was talking to ME as well!  There have been many times I have struggled with this very issue.

I’m here to tell you that you can overcome anything.  You can overcome fear!

Baby steps!

One small step at a time.  So what if you fall!  Get back up and try again.  And keep trying until you get it!  God is with you!

Remember Isaiah 41:13:
For I am the LORD your God, who upholds your right hand,
Who says to you, ‘Do not fear, I will help you.’

It doesn’t matter how small the steps.  What matters is that you take the reins of authority that God has given you and you put one foot in front of the other and GO!

What have you got to lose?
